Help people complete the work that matters
A product can contain the right features and still be difficult to use. People may struggle to find a setting, understand a complex form or see what has happened after they take an action. Staff tools face the same problem, especially when frequent users rely on workarounds to complete routine tasks.
Our UX design services address those practical difficulties. We work on customer-facing products and internal applications, including existing systems where a complete rebuild is neither necessary nor desirable.
Design the journey, including its awkward moments
We review the important tasks, the available user evidence and the constraints of the application. A focused UX audit can identify issues to investigate; research and usability testing help establish how those issues affect the people using it.
Design work may cover navigation, information architecture, forms, permissions or multi-step workflows. We consider small screens, keyboard use and the states that are easy to overlook: validation errors, empty results, loading, restricted access and recovery from mistakes.
We develop the interface alongside your team, using prototypes where they help test a decision. Reusable patterns and components can bring consistency to a growing product. Engineers contribute to feasibility discussions so that the design fits the actual system and its delivery constraints.
Interface design within a complex product
For LV=, we worked with the client’s design and development team on a flexible car insurance service. Research and testing informed repeated iterations of wireframes and mockups, including journeys involving document information and external integrations.
For Easol, our work included highlighting UX inconsistencies and creating reusable interface components. These are different starting points: one concerned a new service experience, the other improvements within a growing application.
Do you provide UI design as well as UX?
Yes. We can work through the interaction and visual interface together, respecting your existing brand and design system. The scope can include responsive layouts, component behaviour and implementation guidance, with responsibilities agreed for checking the result after development.
What if the problem extends beyond the website?
If delays or confusion arise from operational hand-offs, offline steps or conflicting responsibilities, service design can examine the wider journey. If the immediate concern is barriers for disabled users, our accessibility service offers a more focused assessment and improvement path.
