Introducing Retro: from team reflection to a clear next step

We built Retro for our own team at Bit Zesty. We are now opening it up to other teams as a public product.

Retro is a shared space for a retrospective: write down what happened, bring related ideas together, decide what deserves attention and agree the next steps.

The last part is the one we want to make easier to keep track of. A useful conversation can lead to an action with an owner and a due date, something the team can return to after the meeting.

Reflect and decide together

Participants add notes to a shared board in real time. You can group related notes, react to them and vote on the topics you want to discuss.

Keep the meeting informal, or enable guided rounds to move through reflection, grouping, prioritisation, discussion and agreement. A shared timer and readiness indicators help a facilitator see when the team is ready to move on. Questions that need another conversation can go into the parking list.

There is also an option to write privately before sharing. New notes stay visible to their author until a facilitator reveals them. Shared notes retain their authors' names, so this is private reflection before a reveal rather than anonymous feedback.

Keep the next step visible

A decision can become an action with an owner, due date and completion state. You can reopen the board to review it or export the shared outcomes as a PDF or JSON file.

If your team uses Linear, a facilitator can connect it and publish selected actions to the appropriate team and project. Connecting Linear is optional, and publishing is a deliberate step. Starting a retrospective does not automatically add issues to your backlog.

The tool records the commitment. The team still decides what is realistic, makes room for the work and discusses whether it helped.

Invite your team, including guests

Creators can sign in with email or Linear. Guests can take part in a shared retrospective with a name, without creating an account.

Share participant links with the people you intend to invite: anyone with a link to a link-shared board can access that board. Facilitator controls are separate from the participant link.

The current Free plan includes one new retrospective per workspace per calendar month, with up to five participants including the creator and guests. Pro is available for teams that need more. The pricing page explains the current plans and allowances.
