Contact tracing tool to help healthcare organisations across the globe to tackle Covid-19

Contact tracing tool to help healthcare organisations across the globe to tackle Covid-19

Over the last few weeks, Bit Zesty has been working flat-out with SXT, a Community Interest Company (CIC) to develop a crucial contact tracing tool to speed up the ability to trace contacts of patients diagnosed with Covid-19.

SXT previously engaged Bit Zesty to create a digital service that allows clinicians and patients to notify their previous sexual partners anonymously. Partners receive an SMS message telling them that they need to get tested and helping them find a clinic nearby.

Our digital STI contact tracing tool has won numerous industry awards and is highly regarded for its impact on healthcare. Over the past few weeks, SXT has been looking at how this tool can be adapted to help with other areas of epidemiology during the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Contact tracing

Working together, we’ve repurposed the existing system to provide a robust way for healthcare providers to conduct contact tracing much more quickly.

Contact tracing is an important aspect of stemming the spread of Covid-19. In the single state of Massachusetts, US, 75 epidemiologists are working to notify contacts of Covid-19 patients with medical advice and how to book a test. This process is time-consuming and, considering the accelerating spread of the virus, needs to be optimised fast to save time – and, ultimately, lives.

The tool is ready

We’re still working on making further improvements, and to fully adapt the tool to different organisations’ needs, but the tool is ready to use. We’re already in discussion with several health authorities across the world.

We’ll keep you updated about the progress of this important project. It’s a relief to us to be able to use our expertise and skills to offer a practical way to help during this time and have a positive impact on helping save more lives.

If you want to know how your organisation could use this tool to help with COVID-19 contact tracing, please get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss your requirements via [email protected].
