London Design Awards - Bit Zesty & SXT

We are delighted to have received a 2018 London Design Award for our work with SXT and we are especially proud to have won silver in the category ‘Digital – Health’.

Last week, the London Design Awards 2018 ceremony was held at the centre of the London design scene, Shoreditch. Award winners came from across the globe, including as far as Korea, to receive their trophies and celebrate this showcase of outstanding design.

Exemplary winners across the board

The London Design Awards celebrate outstanding and innovative design across a range of specialist categories, from architecture to physical products to digital service design. The award recognises organisations and projects that are defining tomorrow.

The winners ranged from small to large organisations and included household names such as Sonos, Lego, Phillips, and the NHS.

This silver award honours Bit Zesty and SXT for an outstanding entry in the category of web and application design for the health sector, ‘Digital – Health’. The calibre of competition in the category was very high – the gold award was scooped up by the NHS with their ‘GP at Hand’ mobile app; what a worthy winner!

SXT – an exceptional digital health service

SXT is a community interest company working to reduce the spread of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) with its digital healthcare services.

SXT partnered with Bit Zesty to create a digital service that helps diagnosed patients to notify their partners about the risk of infection. The SXT digital Partner Notification service allows diagnosed patients to provide their sexual partners’ contact details at the clinic or at home and discreetly notify them through an anonymous SMS.

This award-winning digital partner notification service is already in use at 14 clinics across the country and has had a demonstrable impact on patient experience, improving the numbers of partners who are notified, tested, and treated for STIs.

The judges at London Design Awards 2018 were looking for exceptional digital service design and evidence that the service makes a genuine difference in improving access to health care. SXT’s service proved that it does just that – by taking design thinking and an evidence-based service design approach, we created a simple, intuitive solution that meets the needs of both patients and health professionals. So far, around 5,400 diagnosed patients have used SXT’s Partner Notification tool, informing over 7,500 sexual partners.

The award night was a great opportunity for teams at both SXT and Bit Zesty to showcase the design of this digital service and celebrate its ongoing success in delivering an exceptional user experience for patients, their partners, and clinicians.
