Bit Zesty delighted to attend the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise Royal Reception

Nov 2021

I was thrilled to be invited to attend the Royal Reception at Windsor Castle by our wonderful client, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise (QAE). The 2021 Reception celebrated the outstanding achievements of over 400 UK businesses, bringing together both the 2020 and 2021 QAE winners.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, designed to recognise and encourage outstanding business achievements in Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility.

The QAE Royal Reception was a delightful event, a truly unforgettable experience. The Reception was attended by HRH The Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal, the Countess of Wessex, the Duke of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra, who all warmly engaged with attendees. I was lucky enough to speak with the Countess of Wessex and many deserving winners. As a woman in business, I was particularly excited to get to know some of the inspirational businesswomen – Sara Davies MBE, Hanna Putjato, Alice Garrett, Erin Graybill and Marguerite Clark.

It is always very satisfying to meet the end-users of the digital products we create, but meeting them at a Royal event made it extra special.

Bit Zesty started working with Queen’s Awards for Enterprise (QAE) seven years ago to build a new award application and assessment system. Our brief was to make the application and assessment process as user friendly and accessible as possible while following Government Digital Service standards. We have continued to work with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (who run QAE) ever since, maintaining the system and developing additional features.

We are ever so grateful to our client for the opportunity to attend this event and to meet the amazing winners of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise award.
