Currently one of the most popular music listening services in the world, Soundcloud runs in a number of different languages, but it has always had at least some Ruby at the core of its service.

Kickstarter

Kickstarter is one of the biggest crowdfunding sites in the world, to date having raised over $1billion in total funds, and runs solely on Ruby on Rails.

GOV.UK

The UK Government’s widely lauded, award-winning, open-source new website is written mainly in Ruby – using a mixture of the Rails and Sinatra frameworks. GOV.UK has become something of a standard for Government websites worldwide, and is only more proof that Ruby is capable of dealing with large numbers of highly important transactions.
